Joy
Joy
is the sound of the symphony
of Yeses
that Love is composing
And…
what everything
and every
thing
is singing
when it sings
Yes.
lingeringinfusinginhabiting
And…
Joy
is the flavor of the banquet
of Yeses
that Love is catering
And…
what everything
and every
thing
is feasting on
when it feasts
Yes.
lingeringinfusinginhabiting
And…
To put it another way:
To ears,
Joy is the sound
Yeses make
when they are in tune
with Love
and when they are in harmony
with each other
Yes.
lingeringinfusinginhabiting
And…
To tongues,
Joy is the taste
Yeses have
When they are grown in soil
rich in Love
and when they are harvested
in season
Yes.
lingeringinfusinginhabiting
And…
To hearts,
Joy is how it feels
to be
wholehearted
in Love,
in wholehearted relationship
with any
and every
wholehearted thing
Yes.
lingeringinfusinginhabiting
And…
To me,
Joy is what it is
to be
connected
to my self
and others
and the wide world all around
in Love
Yes!
lingeringinfusinginhabiting
And…
An excerpt from Chapter Eight (“Something Like a Glossary”) of an unfinished book I’ve been writing with the working title of Inspired: a book about a relationship with the catalyst at the heart of life, the universe, and everything, this poem is an attempt to poetically and playfully express something of the volumetric shape the word joy is stretching, expanding, changing, and growing to look like inside of my current understanding.
